About John

Helping you become more grounded, capable & self-trusting.

I’ve spent my career helping people become more capable of creating the lives, businesses and futures they want.

What has changed over the years is where I’ve seen the real obstacles to that happen.

I began coaching in 2016, and since then I’ve worked with people across personal development, business, leadership and sales.

Again and again, I’ve seen something that has shaped the way I work today:

People don’t usually need someone to tell them they’re capable.

Many already are.

They’ve built businesses.
They’ve built careers.
They’ve raised families.
They’ve overcome difficult things.
They’ve invested years in personal growth.

And yet they may still struggle with self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, difficult patterns, leadership pressure, or the feeling that they should be further along than they are.

That has become central to my work.

I help people develop the internal and practical capacity to move through life differently.

From Personal Growth to Self-Leadership

When I began coaching, much of my work centered around helping people identify what they wanted, understand what was getting in their way, and take meaningful action.

Over time, I became increasingly interested in what happens beneath the obvious problem.

Why can someone know exactly what they should do and still struggle to do it?

Why can someone be highly successful and still feel deeply uncertain?

Why can someone understand their patterns intellectually but continue experiencing them emotionally?

Why can a founder know they need to delegate but still feel compelled to control everything?

Why can a salesperson know exactly how to handle an objection but struggle to do it confidently in the moment?

These questions led me deeper into the relationship between emotional resilience, self-trust, leadership and capacity.

And they continue to shape my work today.

The Work I Do Today

Today, my work sits across four connected areas:

Emotional Healing

I help people understand themselves more deeply, work through protective and limiting patterns, and develop greater emotional steadiness and self-trust.

This includes trauma-informed coaching, inner-child work and body-based emotional work.

My structured approach to this work is Basecamp: The Return to Self™.

Leadership

I help people develop the ability to lead themselves well under pressure.

That means learning to make decisions, take ownership, respond rather than react, navigate challenges, and remain grounded when life gets demanding.

Business

I work with service-based founders who want to grow their businesses without becoming increasingly trapped inside them.

The work focuses on developing the leadership capacity, systems and ownership required for sustainable growth.

This is the foundation of Basecamp Business Leadership™.

Sales

Since 2017, I’ve trained more than 1,000 sales professionals, helping individuals and teams improve sales performance, communication, customer experience and leadership.

My approach to sales training is practical: understand what actually makes people effective in the conversation, then give them the skills and practice to perform differently.

What Connects It All

On the surface, emotional healing, business coaching and sales training might seem like very different things.

To me, they aren’t.

They all come back to capacity.

Can you trust yourself?

Can you stay grounded when things get difficult?

Can you make decisions without constantly second-guessing yourself?

Can you handle pressure without losing yourself?

Can you take ownership?

Can you communicate clearly?

Can you lead yourself and others well?

Can you build something meaningful without sacrificing yourself in the process?

Those are the questions underneath much of my work.

My Philosophy

I don’t believe most people need to become someone completely different.

I believe most people have more capability than they’re currently able to access consistently.

Sometimes that capacity is buried under fear, old patterns, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm or a lack of clarity.

Sometimes it’s buried under the pressure of running a business or leading other people.

And sometimes people simply haven’t been given the right tools or environment to develop it.

So my work isn’t about telling you who you should become.

It’s about helping you understand where you are, understand what’s getting in the way, and develop the capacity to move forward with greater clarity, confidence and self-trust.

You don’t need to become someone else.

You need to become more fully capable of being yourself.

A Little About My Journey

I moved to Trinidad & Tobago in 2015 and have been based here since.

Since beginning my coaching practice in 2016, I’ve continued to expand my work as I’ve learned more about what actually helps people change.

In 2017, I began training sales professionals and organizations, eventually working with more than 1,000 sales professionals.

My work has continued to evolve through years of coaching, training, studying, working with clients and paying close attention to what actually creates meaningful change.

Today, I bring those experiences together through coaching, emotional healing, leadership development, business coaching and sales training.

Where to Begin

You don’t need to know exactly what you need before reaching out.

If you’re dealing with something personally, looking to grow as a leader, trying to build a healthier business, or wanting to strengthen your team’s sales performance, we can start with a conversation.

We’ll look at where you are, where you want to go, what’s getting in the way, and whether I can genuinely help.

If I can, I’ll tell you what I recommend.

If I’m not the right person, I’ll tell you that too.

Personal Interests

I’m a firm believer in continually working to become better in all areas of life, not just professionally.

That includes my work, but also how I take care of myself, how I eat, how I sleep, how I exercise, and how I continue learning and growing as a person. I’m always experimenting, learning and looking for ways to live with greater health, energy, discipline and intention.

I’ve practiced the martial art of TaeKwonDo for more than twenty years and have achieved the rank of Master, fourth-degree black belt, with my rank recognized by the World TaeKwonDo Federation in Seoul, Korea.

I’ve also completed two 70.3 Ironman triathlons and a marathon.

I’m an avid traveler and look forward to continuing to experience the world with my wife.

For me, personal growth isn’t something I only talk about with clients. It’s something I try to practice in my own life.
